Simon Cowell, at 'The X Factor' 's season finale on Dec. 20, didn't look quite so smug when paparazzi caught him sunbathing in St. Barts.

Simon Cowell is seldom one to shy away from much. Train your paparazzi lens on his bare midsection in all its St. Barts-bathed glory, however, and he suddenly gets all modest.
Seems the 53-year-old singing competition-show chieftain is taking an opposite approach to what celebrities typically do on island holiday: Covering up. When photographers focused in on his toplessness as he relaxed on a yacht, an annoyed-looking Cowell grabbed what looks like a magazine and then an arm to hide his (hairy) chest.
Here's guessing his X Factor co-stars Britney Spears and Demi Lovato wouldn't have been nearly so bashful.
