All's fair in love and turkey legs
It's a right of passage: the Ozark Empire Fair. Every year the fun-loving, the curious and the gluttons for culinary punishment descend upon the fair in droves to see what's new in livestock—and in fried dough. Feeling impervious to the effects of heat, humidity and peanut oil, we at Metromix ventured out to try as many fair foods as we could before we slipped into a diabetic coma. Producer Kerry Trotter and photographers Thomas Hardwicke and Laura Weis were the players, all matter of edible regrets were our pawns. Check out our voyage to the belly of, well, our bellies and see which foods we loved, hated and which will be fodder for a gym routine worth sticking to. -- Kerry Trotter, Metromix
