As issues of Spin magazine got thinner and thinner over time, the writing appeared to be on the wall. Now it's official: The music mag has ceased production of its print version.

The trend-setting publication had a good run at newsstands - 25 years. And Spin's not alone. Paste, Vibe and Blender have also fallen victim to the digital age.

The end of the print edition doesn't mean the party's over. Spin has been steadily beefing up its online presence. Earlier this year, it announced that the magazine's critics would review 1,500 albums during 2012 via Twitter.

Have they achieved that number? We haven't kept count.
