Inside Look: Grad School

The Menu Counter service The Grill The space

As someone who will be mired in student loan debt for the rest of her natural life because of grad school, I tend to go out of my way to avoid any reminders of it. And whaddya know, I wind up going bananas for a restaurant that flaunts that reality so gratuitously in my face. Grad School on Jefferson Avenue is in the space formerly occupied by Acoustic Cafe and Rasta Grill, and from what I hear, has plucked employees and a popular dish from its previous tenants. Here's hoping they stick around longer than the other two incarnations because this place is go-od. That's two-syllable good. The food is affordable, fresh and really well-prepared and the staff and interior exude this super comfortable and inviting vibe. As a result, this place feels like an upscale dive, if that makes any sense. Although, I would imagine that the managment would balk at being called either upscale or a dive -- what I mean is it's clean, yummy and totally relaxed. Walking in we were greeted by any number of employees and when walking out, we received a barrage of appreciative "see yas" and "come agains." Will do. Gladly.

Best Place to Grab a Quick Lunch

We all have busy lives, but it doesn't mean that our lunch break must be filled with cold sandwiches, sadness and that bruised apple wrapped in a protective paper towel. Here is my list for good places to grab a scrumptious bite.
