The Grotto
Hippy Burger
Laura (the meat lover): I'll have to admit, the guacamole dressing on my burger was initially somewhat worrisome, but after the first bite, those concerns seemed to fly away. I find the usual "faux burgers" tend to have a rubbery, soft texture, but not this one. This black bean burger was cooked to perfection and even had a bit of crispiness to it. The flavors from the patty with the guacamole were similar to those I would expect from a Mexican restaurant. I honestly believe that this was a burrito trying to be burger and I liked it. For someone who has had bad experiences with veggie burgers in the past, give this one a chance. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Thomas: The black bean patty had a little bit of delicious spicy zip to it, but probably wasn't thick enough to fool an experienced meat-atarian.
