Inside Look: Kailani's
Here’s some Springfield trivia for you: PFI got their slogan “and I’m not kidding” because of their old location near the Westway Center on West Chestnut. You see, Chestnut and College are parallel streets most of the time, but they intersect at the 2700 block—and I’m not kidding. The old PFI is long gone, but the Westway Center is now home to a new restaurant called Kailani’s Hawaiian Food and we’re not kidding when we say it’s 100 percent authentic.
Proof: this is someone else’s assessment we overheard at Kailani’s:
“We’re from South Carolina and we had to drive to Missouri to get good Hawaiian food. Go figure.”
But if you’re like us and never had Hawaiian food before, there’s a lot to learn and explore at Kailani’s.
