Big Whiskey's: Whiskey River Burger
The night I visited Big Whiskey’s, it was like a mildly entertaining frat party in there. Girls were running from table to table taking pictures, and the guy sitting next to me at the bar kept yelling things about Michael Jackson for the entire restaurant to hear. Despite the atmosphere, Big Whiskey’s knows how to make a very serious burger (they’re really good at nachos, too). For starters, there are six different burgers to choose from. I got the Whiskey River burger, which came with bacon, pepper jack cheese, and Southwestern ranch dressing. Unlike some condiments that seem to overwhelm the burger, these toppings are balanced perfectly and really compliment the thick and juicy meat. Good luck saving room for fries. Grade: A
Also worth noting: Big Whiskey’s serves something called the $300 burger. For $300, you’ll get three burgers and a bottle Jack Daniels brewed specifically for Big Whiskey’s by Jim Bedford himself. Only three people have ever ordered it.
Price: $7.99
