Taylor's: Double Steakburger
Taylor’s is a Springfield institution when it comes to old fashioned steakburgers. They’ve been grinding their own meat fresh each day since 1947. You can read all about the restaurant’s story on the front and back of the menu. You'll find out why the owners moved the business from Grinnell, Iowa and why they hate Jordan Valley Park, which is really funny and depressing. Anyway,I got the double steakburger and grilled onions. I think the grilled onions are what makes Taylor’s superior to Steak 'n Shake. The only problem with my steakburger was that it seemed to eat itself. The meat is kind of thin, so I can down one like a professional speed eater if I’m not careful. The service was kind of sketchy, which I blame on Jordan Valley Park. A guy in the drive-thru never got his food and peeled out of the parking lot. Then the cashier was really grumpy when I tried to give her my money, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying every bite.
