Chop Sticks
When I drive past Chop Sticks, I muse that it's a peculiar name for a Chinese restaurant. Isn't that like calling an American restaurant, "Forks"? Located on North Glenstone, I stopped in to see their take on the dish. The restaurant is small and has a very specific smell to it -- it smells exactly like Beijing. If you've ever been, you know exactly what that smell is: stagnant air and fresh food. It's unmistakable. We were the only people who were eating inside.
Pros: The food was made fresh to order in the back, and the coating was crunchy, like fried chicken. It was also fairly inexpensive.
Cons: The sauce was overly sweet. In fact, it tasted like it was made with maraschino cherry juice. Inside the breading, the chicken was tough and bland. It didn't taste like it was made with the highest quality meat, which had some stringy bits and was cut in huge, unmanageable chunks.
The Price: $3.68 -- tax included
Overall Score: 2 out of 5. Use your chopsticks to "pick" a better dish. In this case, you get what you pay for. Me-di-ocrity.
