The Full Ride
My companion was completely stymied about what to get — everything looked good. She's a burger nut so she eventually narrowed it down to either the Codi Bra ($7), a house-made veggie burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and soft sharp cheddar spread, or the Full Ride ($7), a double-patty beef burger with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, bacon and that same soft sharp cheddar spread. Upon our friendly waiter's enthusiastic endorsement, she went Full Ride. When he brought the burger out and set it in front of her she gasped. When she took the first bite, she looked like she was going to cry. "OK, THIS is the best burger I've ever had," she said in all seriousness, pushing a runaway piece of bacon back into her mouth. It was juicy, flavorful and had the perfectly complimentary burger toppings — the gooey spreadable cheese was the best part, she said. While a little on the messy side, the combination of flavors and quality of beef more than made up for the disarray. It came with a generous pile of delicious, crispy, perfectly seasoned french fries and a pickle spear — which she dipped in ketchup and ate. I nearly had to excuse myself from the table when she did that. But then I stole more of her fries so that put me in a better place.
