The amended self-service style of The Grotto gives the place an approachable air, as well as cutting down on costs for the customer. Fewer servers means more money goes into the food. Patrons wind up with better quality at a lower cost. There's a tidy area where customers can get their own drinks, utensils and condiments. After checking it out a couple of times over a couple of visits (during very busy times) it was always spotless. That's hard to maintain.
