Only a week old, the newest Mexican grill in Springfield blends authentic flavors and great prices to entice locals into their purple restaurant. The Purple Burrito Express is located on Campbell, just north of Sunshine. This hole-in-the-wall establishment is already luring quite a few fans away from area Mexican fast food chains. From the outside, it's an unbecoming corner joint. Once you step inside, however, the restaurant opens up with a high sloping ceiling and a surprisingly clean, modern interior. This quick, casual spot is perfect for lunch on-the-go or a lazy afternoon sit down meal.

It's a family-friendly spot, as there is even a kids menu for picky youngsters. And for fans of the breakfast burrito (mexican food meets bacon? Where do I sign), a pre-work stop to pick one up is imminent. Every dish is made to order and the family who runs the restaurant is incredibly friendly. Click through our photo gallery to see what we tried and how the restaurant gets its colorful name. Spoiler alert: unfortunately, there are no actual purple burritos on the menu. But can't a man dream?
