A downtown haven for sub sandwich purists, the Sub Shop is a no-frills shop with counter service and limited seating. Its inexpensive subs on fresh-baked white or wheat 12-inch buns come in several varieties, ranging from standard (roast beef or club) to meatball, Reuben, Big Beef and Nightmare (meatballs, cheese, onions, mild peppers and meat sauce).
